Sam Holderness is the Director at Summer Boarding Courses

Sam Holderness

Sam has served as Director since 2015, having been with SBC since its beginning in 2008. During his tenure as Director, SBC achieved 15 out of 15 points of strength from the British Council – the first multi-centre summer school to gain this recognition. Before becoming Director, Sam personally ran 3 of our schools over 5 different summers. He sits on the Dukes Education Executive Committee and continues to be tremendously inspired by developing SBC’s students.

Prior to joining SBC, Sam spent 3 years in child psychology, working with vulnerable young people displaying challenging behaviour. Born and raised in Singapore, he was educated internationally in Singapore and UK boarding schools. He has a degree in Culture and a post-graduate diploma in Psychology from British universities. Sam has a love for all types of Asian food and, when his wife and daughter allow him, a good game of rugby.
