Welcome to the Social Sciences programme at Rochester Independent College, designed for curious students aged 12-15 who are eager to explore the world around them. For your Time to Shine project, you will conduct an in-depth analysis or research project on a social issue or phenomenon that fascinates you. This project will allow you to apply the theories and methods you’ve learned during the course, culminating in a presentation where you’ll share your insights and demonstrate your understanding of complex social dynamics. Whether you choose to explore topics like the effects of social media on youth behaviour, the impact of economic policies on inequality, or the role of culture in shaping identity, this project will showcase your ability to critically analyze and communicate your findings effectively.
