Future Business Leaders at SBC Canford
SBC Canford | Ages 12 – 15
Future Business Leaders provides students with a comprehensive insight into the key concepts of international business. The course has been developed specifically for SBC Canford International and classes are multinational, providing plenty of opportunities for students to develop their English language skills. Students are provided with an interactive and collaborative environment to learn in, as we believe they learn most effectively when actively applying their subject knowledge through communicative project work.
Students will be taught the essentials of business, including finance, marketing, branding, market research and product design. In each lesson, they will develop their English language skills as well as their knowledge of Business. Students will also have the opportunity to analyse real-life successful business models and develop their practical understanding of business strategies, through effective project tasks and team-building exercises.
As part of our Time to Shine programme, our students have the chance to actively apply their newfound knowledge and design a start-up business, working together to create a product and pitch it to a panel of experts for investment. In doing so, students will develop their English speaking and presentation skills, alongside their skills in creativity and originality, teamwork and leadership, and the art of delivering a successful sales pitch.
Our focus on creating a communicative space for students to learn in enables them to leave the course with higher confidence in using English, and a deeper understanding of the world of business. In addition, our Time to Shine programme is the ideal way for students to leave the course with a better understanding of how the theory of business is realised in practice.
A good understanding of finance is crucial to the success of businesses. This module includes an introduction to balance sheets, profit and loss, and different funding models available to businesses.
Coca Cola, Apple and Nike are some of the most instantly recognisable brands in the world. This module looks at how companies establish a clear brand, and how they use that to generate more sales.
This module runs throughout the whole course. Through collaborative projects, students work together to create and pitch a new product to a board of experts. This module gives students the opportunity to put into practice everything they have learnt during the course.
Modules are given for example purposes and are subject to change.
