Summer Boarding Courses’ Business Studies programmes have been designed for the young businesspeople of today, and the industry leaders of the future. These courses focus on developing business skills, business knowledge and leadership. All of our Business Studies students will participate in assignments and projects, which will develop an understanding of how businesses work in practice. These projects culminate in the students’ design and presentation of their own product and start-up company.

Learning English Through Business Studies

Summer Boarding Courses’ Business Studies programmes are designed to teach the English language through studying Business Studies. In these courses, English language and Business Studies tuition are integrated together, so that knowledge of both subjects is improved at the same time.

Our Business Studies programmes have the following four objectives:

  • Content: Improving the knowledge of Business Studies
  • Communication: Studying through a communicative and collaborative approach to learning, with the aim of improving English language proficiency
  • Cognition: All courses at SBC focus on developing 21st Century Skills, such as critical thinking skills, collaborative skills and presentation skills.
  • Culture: All courses include the cross-cultural benefits of studying in a multi-national environment

Business Studies

Time to Shine

Business Studies students collaborate in a Time to Shine project in which they will develop the concept and business plan for a new start-up company. This project will culminate in the students giving a sales pitch presentation about their start-up company to a business panel, who will offer feedback and guidance to the students.
