Summer Boarding Courses’ Academic Discovery programmes are designed to teach the English language through studying school subjects. In these courses, English language and subject tuition are integrated together, so that knowledge of both the English language and mainstream school subjects is improved at the same time.
Our Academic Discovery programmes have the following four objectives:
Academic Discovery students get to draw on the depth of English language subject knowledge they have achieved each week, to create engaging and thought-provoking presentations. This communicative and collaborative task enables students to utilise a variety of 21st-century skills and culminates with all students presenting in front of their peers. Throughout each course, students will take part in a diverse range of engaging tasks, as well as weekly projects. Example projects include presentations, class competitions, drama pieces, team challenges and creative writing exercises.
