Carlos, Parent, Portugal

Our children have attended the summer boarding courses for two consecutive years and we (parents) have witnessed a tremendous development in their English command and, more importantly, their confidence and happiness to experience the program again. It is a very satisfying and rewarding adventure for children willing to improve their language abilities and meet different cultures.

Academic Programme

Each week, summer school students will receive 15 hours of tuition in their chosen subject/course. All courses employ a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology, to enable students to develop their English language skills through lessons focusing on a specific subject. At the end of each week, students collaborate to give small group presentations to demonstrate their learning and put their English to practical usage.

Summer School Social Programme

SBC at Bredon Summer School students enjoy a varied and fun multi-activity social programme with a range of fun activities in the afternoon and evenings. The social programme allows students to spend time with their new friends and try lots of new and exciting activities.

Students will participate in a multi-activity programme with a wide range of activity choices including football, arts and crafts, music, and swimming. Students typically have a choice from over 10 different activities each afternoon. There will also be several whole school events, including discos, sports tournaments, and film making.

Optional English+ Activities

Alongside our inclusive multi-activity social programme, we also offer students the opportunity to participate in optional specialist activities. These activities take place on two afternoons each week in place of the multi-activity programme.

English Plus+ General English Extra

This course is for students looking to quickly build confidence and further their English language level. Students will focus on improving their vocabulary, grammar, writing, reading, listening, reading and speaking skills.

During the two-week course, students will go on two excursions to famous UK tourist cities or destinations. Our dedicated staff team accompany the students and have a series of activities planned for the students to ensure that they make the most from their trip. Staff also live on-site to ensure that there is 24-hour support available to all students should they need it.

All accommodation and facilities are cleaned regularly throughout the stay to ensure the highest standard of hygiene is maintained. A laundry service is available once per week to all students.
